The ECREDibles (Scotland)
The ECREDibles wanted to find out how a group of people with dementia could work in partnership with a university in order to lead research. This was an exploratory project, looking at whether a replicable model could be created to share across universities.
The partnership with ECRED has provide formal, contracted support to write research and funding bids, intern support hours and skills, staff support time, budget hosting and the advantage of a formal partnership with a university.
The group has many recommendations about how people with dementia can be fully involved in this university partnership. Suggestions include rehearsal sessions on Zoom, recording minutes of meetings as audio files, shared files, sending reminders, providing travel support. This work is ongoing.
